The Sunday-night domino effect

1

Find something to readIs it really Grade 3? Is it even worth reading?

2

Build everything around itQuestions, vocabulary, organizer, response, answer key.

3

Second-guess the whole thingDoes it flow? Did I actually teach the skill?

Sound familiar?

Your reading plans keep following you home.

Planning time disappears into meetings, emails, copies, and everything else. Then one unfinished reading lesson quietly becomes your Sunday-night job.

You should not have to choose between a lesson you feel good about and an evening that still belongs to you.

One “simple” reading lesson still needs:

  • A Grade 3 reading passage
  • Comprehension questions
  • Vocabulary practice
  • A useful organizer
  • Something partners can discuss
  • A written response
  • Answers you can trust

Reading Lab gives you the whole chain—already built.

01

The passage is found. Nothing else is.

Now you still need questions, vocabulary, an activity, a response, and answers.

02

Random downloads do not make a sequence.

Students finish the page, but the skill does not clearly build into next week.

03

Checking the answer key becomes another task.

You need guidance for reasonable responses—not just a letter beside each question.

04

“I’ll finish it at home” keeps happening.

The lesson gets done. Your evening pays for it.

A system, not a worksheet pile

Monday morning, the whole week is already there.

Open the teacher roadmap and see the goal, modeling language, and five-day flow. Print the seven student pages. Move from reading to practice, discussion, and one evidence-based response.

No scavenger hunt. No stack of unrelated downloads. Just the next step, right where you expect it.

Don’t take our word for it

Zoom in. Read the pages. Decide for yourself.

We would rather show you the real thing. Open any page and check the lesson, reading level, and student work before you buy.

Questions before you print

Make sure it fits your classroom.

This is a focused comprehension resource, not an everything-in-ELA promise.

Does this replace my full ELA curriculum?

No. Reading Lab is an 18-week comprehension system for reading, vocabulary, discussion, and evidence-based written responses. It does not replace a complete phonics, spelling, grammar, or foundational skills program.

What do I need to prepare each week?

Read the weekly overview and model, choose any suggested supports your class needs, and print the seven-page student packet. The lesson sequence, reading, activities, answers, and scoring guidance are included.

How long does each module take?

Each module includes a suggested five-day roadmap, but teachers can adjust it around their existing comprehension block and their students’ reading, discussion, and writing needs.

Are answers included?

Yes. Every weekly module ends with sample answers, acceptable variations, scoring guidance, and a teaching note addressing a likely misconception.

Is it aligned to standards?

The modules include Grade 3 standards references for planning. Because requirements vary by location, compare them with your local standards before adopting the sequence.

What exactly will I receive?

The bundle includes two bookmarked 188-page PDFs: one full-color edition and one low-ink edition. The content is the same in both. Editable source files and a physical book are not included.
